Christopher B. Bergman

Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD – ย On July 1 at 8:50 a.m. Christopher B. Bergman was arrested for having a handgun in a vehicle. Authorities said the weapon’s serial number had been altered. Bergman approached the entrance of gate 3, where he was met by Patuxent River Military Police Officer Christopher Knight.ย

According to court documents, Knight directed Bergman to another military police officer, Jonathan Delair. Bergman told Knight that he had a question but that Delair did not have the significant rank. According to Bergman “he needed to speak with a person about security issue but could not speak with Delair.”

Bergman advised he was “sent to NAS Patuxent River by a CIA operative to speak with high ranking military officials at the base.”

ย According to Delair “the individual was very erratic and spoke of many topics, ranging from his need to get on base to visiting family in Florida where he claimed to be traveling from.”

When the military police officers began to question Bergman, he told Detective Donald Lynch that he had a .38 special caliber handgun that was loaded in the front passenger area of his vehicle.

Bergman was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He was transported to St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Bergman faces a maximum of eight years of jail time, and up to $12,500.00 in possible fines. ย
