Prince Frederick, MD – A Calvert County Circuit Court grand jury handed down a one-count indictment for an Owings man on a charge related to a sexual relationship he had with a minor teenage female.
According to documents on file in the court system, Robert Michael Lindsey, 20, is facing one count of third-degree sex offense. The charge is a felony. The incident is alleged to have occurred Dec. 19.
According to the statement of probable cause on file in District Court, Dfc. Aaron Locke said he was called to a home on Gray Inn Court, Prince Frederick “for the report of a sexual offense.” Locke was met by the victim’s father, who stated he caught his daughter “having sexual intercourse with a 20-year-old male, Robert Lindsey.”
When confronted by the girl’s father and a neighbor, “Lindsey quickly got up and began buckling his pants,” Locke stated. The girl’s father and the male neighbor then “got physical with Lindsey as they escorted him out of the home.” The father detained Lindsey outside the house until police arrived, the court documents stated.
During a subsequent interview with police, Lindsey admitted he knew the girl was a minor teen, Locke stated.
According to court documents, a pretrial hearing on the charge is tentatively scheduled for April 11 in circuit court. Case information indicated Lindsey will be represented by Maryland Senate President Mike Miller’s Dunkirk law office.
