LEXINGTON PARK, Md. โ As of Wednesday morning at roughly 10 a.m., the Maryland Department of Health(MDH) is confirming a total of 10,032 cases of the novel coronavirus(COVID-19) across the state of Maryland, while there are going to be more results that are presumably still waiting to be confirmed.
This new total means there are 560 newly confirmed cases in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, over 2,231 people have ever been hospitalized, and 109 of those were recorded in the past day.
607 previously infected people have been released from their isolation according to MDH, none of which have been recorded in the past day.
47 people in the state have died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the stateโs death toll unfortunately up to 349.
Negative test results also grew, with at least 1,470 negative confirmations in the past day, bring that total to 45,731.
At this time, there are at least 521 officially confirmed cases in the Southern Maryland region. Charles County saw their previously confirmed total of 292 cases rise to 310. In Calvert County, MDH has confirmed at least three more official cases overnight, bringing their total up to 102.
St. Maryโs County now counts cases on a rolling basis, and records from the county show a total of 109 cases now, which is up one from Tuesday’s update.

A majority of the positive cases across the state are still found in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. PG County has the most cases of any county in the state, with an overnight increase of at least 160 cases bringing the total to 2,516.
Since yesterday, Montgomery County saw an increase of at least 50 newly recorded cases, bringing their total to at least 1,933.
Anne Arundel County has also confirmed 62 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing their official total to 845.
On April 14, the total number of confirmed cases by the Maryland Department of Health was at least 9,482. As of April 14, that recorded number is at least 10,042, showing over a 5.9% increase across the state in the past 24 hours. This is the first single digit increase in at least one week, following lowered increases across the state.
