The Telly Awards has named the Maryland Park Service as a Bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for their piece, Gratitude for Maryland State Parks. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.
“Take a trip to any of Maryland’s beautiful State Parks and you’re sure to have a wonderful adventure,” said Maryland Park Service Superintendent Nita Settina. “In an effort to celebrate the dedication of our staff, we charged our Social Media Team with capturing and conveying the essence of the visitor experience. This video does that and more. I couldn’t be more proud.”
The video is composed of shots taken in nearly all of Maryland’s 66 State Parks during the spring, summer and fall of 2013, and features visitor activity and commentary about their experiences. The team consisted of Stephen Badger, who filmed, edited and produced the piece, and Christina Holden and Diane Feheley who also served as producers.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
A prestigious judging panel of more than 650 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Entries do not compete against each other, rather are judged against a high standard of merit.
