LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Splash In is set to open its largest tunnel car wash in Maryland in Leonardtown, bringing state-of-the-art car washing technology to the area.
The 110-foot-long Splash In tunnel car wash, located at 40874 Merchants Lane, will feature automatic tire-shine capability and is expected to open in August 2025. It will be capable of washing up to 110 cars per hour and will include 20 vacuum bays for customers to clean their vehicles’ interiors at no additional charge. The facility will utilize belt-driven technology, allowing both low-profile cars and dually trucks to use the service with ease.
“Splash In is excited about bringing our state-of-the-art car wash approach to Leonardtown and St. Mary’s County,” said Mike Mulhern, director of operations at Splash In. “We believe that our Splash In tunnel car wash and membership program will be a great experience for Southern Maryland.”
Splash In will offer membership options for Leonardtown residents, providing unlimited car wash access. Customers will be able to choose from three membership tiers: Basic, Boost, and Best, with monthly subscription rates varying by plan.
The car wash will occupy the former site of Perkins and Happy Seafood House.
The Leonardtown Town Council approved the allocation of six additional equivalent dwelling units to the Splash In car wash at its Aug. 12, 2024, meeting. The allocation, set to take effect upon construction completion, will allow the project to proceed despite potential delays in the wastewater facility’s completion.
The addition of Splash In is part of a broader expansion in Leonardtown. An all-new Dash In convenience store will celebrate its grand opening Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11, 2025. The store, located at 26065 Point Lookout Road, aims to set a new standard in the convenience sector.
Residents are invited to the Dash In grand opening event on April 10 from noon to 7 p.m. and April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees can sample Dash In’s fresh, made-daily offerings, including all-day breakfast, fresh pastries, and cooked-to-order burgers, all available 24/7.
Dash In and Splash In are subsidiaries of the Wills Group, a La Plata-based company expanding its services in Southern Maryland to offer more convenience and amenities to the community.

Grand opening = BATH TIME!
Welcoming a carwash; however, sad to see many hard worked ventures not succeed. My friends and I always felt if they kept the building and outside maintained (like Perkins) it wouldn’t have been a rotating business flop. Who wants to eat where there are weed trees growing in out of control shrubs. Always looked crappy in the middle of shopping center that was maintained
Jimmy buddy! If you need to bathe I’m not sure a car wash is the way to go! You can bathe at my house any time you need!
