LEONARDTOWN, Md. — MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital celebrated the arrival of its first baby of 2025 when Alvine and Mukoh welcomed their daughter, Racheal. Born on Jan. 1, baby Racheal weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20.2 inches.

The couple, originally from Belgium, found themselves unexpectedly grounded in the U.S. due to pregnancy risks. Their planned honeymoon took an unexpected turn, leading to Racheal’s historic debut in Leonardtown.

Generation Beta, born from Jan. 1, 2025, onward, is expected to grow up in a world of rapid technological evolution. As digital tools and AI become increasingly integrated into everyday life, this generation will likely see transformative changes in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. Their unique perspective as digital natives will shape the future of global innovation and culture.

“It’s awesome,” Alvine said. “The whole nation and everyone will get to celebrate her birthday with her!” Once cleared to travel, the family plans to return to Belgium to begin their new chapter as parents.

Congratulations to Alvine and Mukoh on their beautiful baby girl, Racheal! Her birth marks an inspiring start to the year in St. Mary’s County.
