NANJEMOY, Md. — Families across Southern Maryland are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring at Melwood’s 4th Annual EGGstravaganza & Spring Festival on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m.

The annual event features one of Maryland’s largest egg hunts and an afternoon packed with family-friendly fun, including a bunny trail, games, crafts, interactive activities and a variety of food trucks.

Guests can search for eggs filled with prizes, explore hands-on activities and enjoy a lively outdoor atmosphere designed for all ages. A returning favorite, the Camp Accomplish rock wall, will give attendees a chance to climb and challenge themselves. Participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes, such as sneakers.

New additions for this year include a vendor market featuring local businesses, a touch-a-truck experience where children can explore vehicles and equipment up close, and expanded opportunities to learn more about Camp Accomplish programs. Organizers will also offer a preview of upcoming activities, including the introduction of slingshots planned for 2026.

Adults can take part in the festivities as well, with an option to build custom bouquets using fresh flowers from Old Fields Farm Flower Patch.

Organizers said the event is designed to be inclusive, offering a sensory-friendly egg hunt and activities tailored for participants of all abilities to ensure everyone can enjoy the celebration.

Due to the size of the event, attendees must park at designated off-site locations and take shuttle transportation to the festival. Shuttle buses will run continuously throughout the event.

Parking is available at the following locations:

  • Charles County Government Building, 200 Baltimore St., La Plata
  • Nanjemoy Community Center, 4375 Port Tobacco Road, Nanjemoy
  • Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School, 9275 Ironsides Road, Nanjemoy

Attendees are instructed to board only buses labeled Beltway Transportation, which will display a Melwood logo in the windshield. Shuttle vehicles will accommodate strollers, with storage available under larger motor coaches and in the rear of smaller buses.

Melwood, a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, hosts the annual event as part of its mission to create inclusive, community-centered experiences.

Community members can also get involved by volunteering to assist with activities and help welcome families throughout the day. Sponsorship opportunities remain available for businesses interested in supporting the event.

Registration is now open for Melwood’s 4th Annual EGGstravaganza & Spring Festival.
