On July 30,ย at 1:00 A.M. the Emergency Communications Center received a call from a citizen reporting an alarm sounding at the St. Clements Island Museum.

Police units responded and discovered a window had been broken out and another window opened. The windows led to the area of the gift shop and several items had been disturbed within the gift shop area. A Sheriffโ€™s Office K-9 unit responded and initiated a search for suspects.

Two subjects were located hiding behind a post on the pier by the K-9 officer. Further investigation led to the arrest of Didier L. Hernandez- Fuentes, a Hispanic Male, 28 of Alexandra, Va. and Mario E. Fuentes, a Hispanic Male, 25 of Alexandria, Va.

Both suspects were transported to the Detention Center, charged with Second-Degree Burglary, Fourth-Degree Burglary, Malicious Destruction of Property under $500 and Trespass on Posted Property.

Both were incarcerated pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
