May 31, 2019 – From April through mid-May, more than 400 local Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners worked together to โ€œmake change happenโ€ as they volunteered to improve communities in Calvert County as part of the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day.

Comcast Cares Day is both a celebration of the companyโ€™s year-round commitment to volunteerism and service and an illustration of the significant impact we have when our employees, their friends and families and our community partners come together to volunteer at more than a thousand projects around the world to make a lasting difference in the communities where we live, work and serve.

Volunteers updated the baseball field, built benches, beautified the grounds and wrote โ€˜thank youโ€™ notes for the teachers at Mill Creek Middle School in Lusby. For the third year in a row, additional volunteers helped with cleaning, mulching, planting flowers and sprucing up the memorial garden at Dowell Elementary School in Lusby. And for the second year, volunteers planted and mulched the annual flowers along the waterfront at Plant the Town as well as cleaned up areas along the marsh, wetland and beach areas and general beautification projects throughout the town of North Beach.
