Leonardtown, MD – On Dec. 17 At 1:34 p.m. several units from Hollywood and Leonardtown were dispatched to the 23700 Block of Hollywood Road in Leonardtown for a motor vehicle accident, the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department reported.ย
Prior to units arriving on location the assignment was upgraded to reports of people trapped, prompting the dispatch of St. Mary’s County Advance Life Support. According to Hollywood VFD officials, “Rescue Squad 1 was first to arrive finding a two-vehicle collision with a small passenger car having serious damage to the rear and passengers side. Rescue Squad 7 arrived shortly after and the crews from Rescue Squad 1 and 7 went to work to free the trapped occupant of the car. Chief 7 was assigned the “rescue group supervisor” and the extrication was completed within 10 minutes of arrival.”ย
One person was transported by Ambulance 197 to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. The injured motorist was not identified.
UPDATE — 1:48 p.m. – Hollywood road will be shut down in both directions.ย
