Waldorf, MD — Guests at the Marriott Courtyard hotel on Crain Highway in Waldorf got an unwanted bit of excitement along with their complimentary breakfast on Thursday.
A small fire broke out around 9 a.m. in the mulch surrounding some landscaping in the rear of the hotel. An employee discovered the blaze and 20 firefighters from Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department quickly extinguished it.
No one was injured. Estimated property loss is around $500. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
