PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) will celebrate National Bring Your Child to Work Day on Thursday, April 24, with interactive, STEM-themed programming for children of NAS Patuxent River employees.
Two locations on base will host events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
- Innovation Challenge Lab, Building 2109 (Rooms 141 and 143), 48150 Shaw Road: Kids can engage in drone demos, catapult simulations, mission flight planning and communication games hosted by NAWCAD’s Strategic Operations Office.
- The iHub, Building 407, 22269 Cedar Point Road: Offers activities that include 3D printing (with F-35 handout assemblies), hands-on AR/VR headset experiences and educational games.
Events are designed for children in elementary and middle school. The WOLF and RAPID innovation teams will organize activities, including demonstrations of emerging defense technologies, in a kid-friendly, interactive setting.
