LEONARDTOWN, Md. — A new boutique bringing coastal-inspired fashion and expanded menswear options has officially opened its doors in the heart of Leonardtown, adding another locally owned business to the town’s thriving small business scene.
Community members gathered March 13 for a ribbon-cutting celebration at 41655 The Inn at Leonardtown to welcome Style House on Park Avenue, a curated boutique offering elevated yet relaxed styles for both women and men.

For owner Dawn Campbell, who has already built a loyal following through her boutiques at Shepherd’s Old Field Market (SOF), the opportunity to expand into a new space came unexpectedly.
“I truly believe God blessed me with this!” Campbell said in an interview with The BayNet. “I have had boutique businesses in Leonardtown at SOF Market since SOF opened in 2016. I was feeling like I needed to switch things up for a little while now, maybe rebrand, or do something to create a fresh look. I was telling my husband this a few months ago. Not even 48 hours later, I received a call from the Inn at Leonardtown about the space being available. I couldn’t NOT jump on this opportunity!”
While the new shop represents a fresh chapter, her other stores will remain in place.
“My Style by Dawn and Elements Outdoor Shops will continue to remain at SOF Market,” Campbell said. “Style House on Park Avenue is giving me the chance to expand my selections and create a different vibe!”

A Coastal-Inspired Boutique Experience
Located inside the Inn, the boutique offers a welcoming retail experience designed for both locals and visitors exploring Leonardtown’s historic downtown. Whether someone forgot a pair of sunglasses for a sunny afternoon on the Square or decides to plan a last-minute dinner or date night in Leonardtown, the boutique carries a variety of stylish essentials to help complete the moment.
“Style House is a coastal-inspired boutique blending relaxed sophistication with curated fashions for women and men,” Campbell explained. “My hope is that it will meet the needs of Leonardtown locals and visitors looking for effortless, elevated style.”

Shoppers can expect a carefully selected mix of wardrobe staples and statement pieces whether preparing for a night out on the Square, a waterfront stroll, or simply finding that one outfit that makes them feel their best.
“Visitors can expect a curated collection of stylish, versatile pieces for both everyday sophistication and special occasions,” she said. “Style House offers breezy dresses, polished tops, and elevated basics alongside crisp button-downs, tailored pants, and classic accessories for women and men.”

The addition of menswear was a deliberate decision based on years of feedback from local shoppers.
“Through the years, I have seen a need for menswear, as there is not much of it offered in the Leonardtown area, so I’m happy to be able to meet that need,” Campbell said. “Also, I think that being located inside of The Inn at Leonardtown will help to meet the needs of travelers who are visiting.”

Rooted In The Community
For Campbell, opening a new shop in Leonardtown is more than just a business decision, it’s deeply personal.
“I love the small-town, Main Street feel of Leonardtown,” she said. “It has changed so much since I was a child.”
Having moved to St. Mary’s County as a young girl in the early 1970s, Campbell has watched the town evolve into a regional destination.
“From a business perspective, Leonardtown has become an amazing hub for small businesses!” she said. “The Town of Leonardtown and the Leonardtown Business Association do such a great job of creating events and promoting this amazing little town. I love being a part of that!”

She added that the town’s transformation over the decades has helped create a vibrant community atmosphere.
“Having grown up here in St. Mary’s County, I have watched Leonardtown grow from a sleepy little town to a place where people can get away from the stress of everyday life for a little while and enjoy a day or evening out at local restaurants and pubs, do a little shopping at the various retail shops, take in a concert, or stroll along the water down at the wharf,” Campbell said. “There is so much more to do here now!”
A Place To Feel Confident And Inspired
As Style House begins welcoming customers, Campbell hopes the boutique becomes a go-to destination for both residents and visitors spending time in the historic town.
“I hope Style House can provide more options for local shoppers and visitors who come for weekend getaways,” she said.

More than anything, she wants the store to feel inviting and inspiring for everyone who walks through the door.
“I hope visitors feel a warm welcoming place where they can enjoy a little time to browse and maybe find something that makes them feel amazing!” Campbell said.
With its grand opening now complete, the boutique is ready to become part of Leonardtown’s growing retail landscape.
“I want people to know that Style House on Park Avenue was created with Leonardtown in mind,” Campbell said. “I want Style House to be a place where locals and visitors feel welcome, and discover something special that will help them walk out feeling confident and amazing!”
