Waldorf, MD — Officials from Charles County and MedStar Medical Group broke ground Wednesday on a new 51,000-square-foot, three-story medical facility on Saint Patrick’s Drive in Waldorf.
The new facilities will offer services for ambulatory patients with primary care, medical specialties, and diagnostics all in the same location.
Medical services and operations will include cardiology, outpatient surgery, sleeping disorders, and phlebotomy. The building will also have a pharmacy.
A second 20,000-square-foot facility is also planned for the nearby at Berry Road and US Route 301 and will offer other medical specialties.
Dr. Vinod K. Shah, the founder and CEO of MedStar Shah Medical Group said, “MedStar Health, in partnership with their local physicians, have committed to invest $25 million in this project. We believe at least 80 new jobs will be created in our area, and this building will reduce the burden of traveling to D.C. and Baltimore for our patients.”
