NORTH BEACH, Md. — North Beach Soap, located at 9122 Bay Ave. in North Beach, is hosting a going-out-of-business sale through Dec. 31 before the company closes the brick-and-mortar location and moves strictly to online sales.
The store, a soap shop and gift shop located across from the scenic North Beach Boardwalk, stocks vegan soaps, skincare products, home decor, novelty items, and more. The store also has select clothes and toys and has been a bright spot along Bay Avenue for years.
In addition to the Bay Avenue location, North Beach Soap has a presence at fairs and markets around Calvert County, focusing on its gentle bath and skin products that it says are safe for all skin types. North Beach Soap has also been a staple for the town’s First Friday events in the summer, as well as holiday and special events and festivals.
The owners of North Beach Soap didn’t immediately respond to The BayNet’s request for an interview but have shared some of the challenges of being a small business in a town that relies on tourism.
The store will remain open through Dec. 31, and then the owners will begin moving out the remaining merchandise and transitioning to an online-only business, according to their Facebook posts.
