At 11:22 pm, on January 3, Company 7 and EMS Company 79 were alerted to the Rescue Box at Three Notch Roand and Mervell Dean Road. Chief 7B marked up moments after the dispatch and fireboard advised two subjects were trapped inside the vehicle.
At 11:24 pm Squad 7, Chief 7B, and Ambulance 798 arrived on location to find a vehicle overturned next to a storm drain. Upon further investigation revealed that there was a single occupant of the vehicle still inside and it was determined that extrication would not be needed.
The subject still inside the vehicle advised Hollywood Volunteers that he had a passenger in the vehicle with him. After he was questioned by the police and the firefighters on the scene it was determined that there was no other patient.
EMS, along with firefighters packaged the patient and awaited Trooper 7. Engine 72 handled the Landing Zone and Chief 7B (Hill) held the “Three Notch Command.” The Squad operated on the scene to provide lighting for the tow truck. Units were in quarters at 12:15 am.
