Park Rock Fest, an annual concert held at Chancellor’s Run Park in Great Mills, blasted through its eighth year on Sept. 4 through 6 – Labor Day weekend. Park Rock is the largest Rock Concert in Southern Maryland, it may also be the loudest, as Selena Gibb, a high school senior living in the area, told friends, “I could hear it from my house.”
Park Rock is sponsored by Power Jam Music Alliance, an organization trying to give local artists a chance to grow, and improve through live performances. Starting in 2003 as a franchise of My Brothers Place, Power Jam Music Alliance, often called PJMA, is a non-profit organization, sponsoring musical performances in the Southern Maryland Area.
For years Power Jam music alliance, through Park Rock and other concerts and events it sponsors, has been giving local bands a chance to gain local exposure.
