Leonardtown, MD – The Leonardtown Lions Club will hold White Cane Fundraisersย at the Ace hardware Store in the Leonardtown Center on Friday evening Oct. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Friday, Oct. 13 at McKayโs in Leonardtown from 4 to 8 p.m.
The Newtowne Players at the Three Notch Theater in Lexington Park opened with Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy by Mel Brooks (book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks) Sept. 29. The show will run through Oct. 15 with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances beginning at 8 pm; Sunday matinees begin at 3:30 pm. Adult tickets are $18, $15 for seniors and students. All tickets are priced at $13 on Thursdays. The cast of characters includes actors Jonathan Berry, Michael Cahall, Sophie Campbell, Tommy Ray Chedester, Ellynne Brice Davis, Kenny Faison, Kristina Faison, Matthew Howe, Kristin Kauffman, Colin Maher, Jeff Maher, Hunter Martin, Stacy Reynolds Oosterink, Meg Pugh, Paul Rose, Beth Sanford, Michael Sokoloff, Kathryn Teague, Jeff Weber, and Marcus Whalen. A Concert at Historic St. Maryโs City
Mark your calendars for Oct. 22 in the Visitor Center at Historic St. Maryโs City when Patti Casey and Tom MacKenzie, performing as Shady Rill, return for a performance of traditional music encompassing the British Isles, Quebec, and Appalachia, at 3 p.m. Admission is $15. Igorโs Peanut Butter Eyeballs

Ingredients
ยฝ creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
ยฝ tsp. vanilla extract
ยฝ tsp. almond extract
1 cup Quaker oats
ยฝ flaked cocoanut
ยผ cup chopped raisins
ยผ cup mini chocolate chips
Additional cocoanut, chocolate chips and finely chopped walnut or pecan pieces
Directions
Mix together peanut butter and honey. Add extracts and oats until well-combined. Stir in coconut, raisins and chocolate chips; chill. Form into small balls and roll in additional coconut, chips and nut pieces. Arrange on a platter with two balls together as a pair; place chocolate chips to form โcrossedโ eyeballs. Chill well, then serve.
