SUNDERLAND, Maryland — A 24-year-old guest at a Sunderland party was shot on Saturday night. Maryland State Troopers said the incident happened at 11:49 pm after an altercation at a party on Wayside Drive.
The shooting victim was brought to the CalvertHealth ER in Prince Frederick by other partygoers and the hospital notified law enforcement.
Troopers and deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the hospital. Troopers said the victim, who is from Lexington Park, was transported by medevac to a trauma center for additional treatment.
Criminal investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division immediately responded and have assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing.
