PASADENA, Md. — A Pasadena couple was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in what police describe as a targeted attack, and a Nottingham man has been arrested after a vehicle pursuit that ended in Severn.
On Nov. 16, 2025, at about 1:55 p.m., Anne Arundel County police officers from the Eastern District were called to the 1700 block of Twickenham Road in Pasadena for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found two adults — a man and a woman — suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Personnel from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced both victims dead at the scene. They were later identified as 54-year-old Jeanna Hayes of Pasadena and 56-year-old William Hayes of Pasadena.
Homicide detectives responded and took over the investigation. Investigators quickly developed a possible suspect and suspect vehicle using information from the 911 call and other investigative leads.
At about 6:27 p.m., with assistance from the department’s Automated License Plate Reader program and coordination with the Real Time Information Center, officers located the suspect vehicle in the area of Severn Road and Ridge Road. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended near Quarterfield Road off Interstate 97 in Severn.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old Anthony Louis Reyes of Nottingham, Maryland, was taken into custody at the end of the pursuit. Court records show Reyes is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault, all related to the Nov. 16 incident.
A bail/bond review hearing was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, before Judge Thomas J. Pryal in Annapolis. Records also indicate a temporary commitment order was issued due to illness after his initial appearance.
Detectives’ preliminary information indicates the shooting was an isolated, targeted incident and that Reyes was known to the victims. Police did not immediately release a possible motive.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731.
