
INDIAN HEAD, Md. — One person was hospitalized early Thursday after a two-vehicle collision that left a car overturned at the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Indian Head Highway.
Maryland State Police and emergency personnel responded to the crash around 6:45 a.m. on March 27, 2025. A preliminary investigation revealed that a black Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Indian Head Highway and attempted to turn left onto Hawthorne Road when it was struck by a northbound Hyundai Elantra.
The impact caused the Hyundai to overturn. A passenger in the Hyundai was transported by ambulance to the UM Charles Regional Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the Ford was cited for failing to yield.
Northbound Indian Head Highway was shut down for over an hour, with southbound traffic reduced to one lane. The road was fully reopened around 8 a.m.
