WALDORF, Md. – On August 19 at 5 p.m., a patrol officer initiated a traffic stop in the area of St. Ignatius Drive and Heritage Place in Waldorf.
The registration plates on the vehicle were suspended and there was a pick-up order from MVA to recover the tags. Upon contacting the driver, it was determined he did not have a driverโs license.
During the stop, officers observed a semi-automatic handgun in plain view between the driver’s seat and center console. Officers were able to safely recover the handgun which was determined to be fully loaded.
Jordan Enoch Gantlin, 23, of Indian Head, was arrested and charged with illegally transporting a firearm, loaded firearm in a vehicle, and traffic violations.
On August 20, a district court commissioner released Gantlin from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance.
Cpl. Wilson is investigating.

……and once again, the legal system completely fails to protect the citizens of Charles county by releasing an armed thug on personal recognizance. Thank you Mr. unnamed court commissioner!
I so agree!
When they let him go, do they give him his gun back? Serious question!
So lets’ see. You know that all of this is so rare, right?
“The registration plates on the vehicle were suspended and…it was determined he did not have a driverโs license.
Officers observed a semi-automatic handgun in plain view.
A district court commissioner released Gantlin from the Charles County Detention Center on personal recognizance.”
I could slap all you idiot democrats for having the nerve to vote for these liberal pukes who let this type of thug go free!!!
So what position do you actually hold on guns Archie? This guy was charged with illegal transportation, not illegal possession. According to all your other gun rants, this man’s God Given Second Amendment rights were just violated. But according to your comments above, this guy is a thug who should be locked up. He wasn’t charged with auto theft, just traffic violations. So why are you all in a bunch?
Perhaps because he is not an officer of the law and driving around with a “loaded” firearm “in the vehicle” (in a high crime area). In my opinion, if you’re going to be driving around with a loaded gun, it should at least be kept in the trunk.
You don’t think Archie can defend his own posts? Yours certainly makes no sense. He’s charged with illegal transportation…not illegal possession. So yeah, it shouldn’t have been loaded and it should have been secured. And that is what he charged with.
And a search of the individual shows no prior illegal activity in Maryland, only traffic citations.
Unfortunately for this individual, the next time he is stopped, a search will show prior illegal activity. It will forever be in the Maryland Judiciary Case Search system.
So what’s your point?
We should demand that they name the district court commissioner every time this happens so we know the names of those endangering our lives
When are we going to stand up to this crap and take our world back?
The booogeyman is coming for you farmers! Either get involved with your community, speak and reach out to that youth in whom you fear, and BE the change you wish to see!
These youth are not our responsibility
Let their parents do their job
Not our problem if they werenโt raised right and when push comes to shove and they cross our paths they will be the ones six feet under
Free the guys
