Arrest in southern Maryland

HANOVER, Md. — A 22-year-old man from Gaithersburg remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning, June 21, 2025, in Anne Arundel County.

The collision occurred just after 2 a.m. near the intersection of Dorsey Road and Aviation Boulevard, according to county police. Officers arriving at the scene found the man lying in the westbound lanes of Dorsey Road with severe injuries. He had been hit by a westbound vehicle, believed to be a bronze-colored car, which left the scene without stopping.

Firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded quickly and transported the victim to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Authorities say the man remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation and asking for the public’s help identifying the driver or vehicle involved.

Police have not released the name of the victim, and no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.
