Pedestrian killed by train near Bowie State University

BOWIE, Md. – A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a train near Bowie State University, Tuesday morning, according to officials.

At approximately 9:15 a.m. emergency crews from the PG County Fire Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a train near the Bowie State University MARC station. The victim was found a half-mile away from the station by firefighters and medics and declared deceased, according to the PG County Fire Department. 

Authorities are investigating the scene, no further details have been released at this time.
