Jacob Martin Wasche

INDIAN HEAD, Md. — A 20-year-old Indian Head man is facing multiple handgun charges after deputies say they found a loaded pistol on the front seat of a pickup during a traffic stop along Route 210 in Charles County.

Jacob Martin Wasche is charged in Charles County District Court with possession of a firearm by a minor, transporting a handgun in a vehicle, transporting a loaded handgun in a vehicle, wearing or carrying a handgun on his person and wearing or carrying a loaded handgun on his person, according to court records.

The charges stem from a Nov. 12, 2025, stop near Route 210 and Dr. Andrews Way. A Charles County sheriff’s officer reported seeing a handgun in plain view, unholstered, on the front passenger seat of the vehicle, court documents state. The firearm recovered was a Taurus 9 mm pistol with a loaded magazine inserted but no round in the chamber.

Charging documents state that during the stop, Wasche told the officer he had received the gun earlier that evening in a truck outside a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Waldorf. He allegedly said an acquaintance handed him the firearm and told him to take it, and that he later loaded rounds into the magazine.

The officer noted that Wasche is under 21, the minimum age to possess a regulated firearm under Maryland law. Records state the gun did not return to any known owner, and Wasche was unable to provide the name of the person who gave it to him.

Officer Nader of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office is listed as the arresting officer and complainant. Wasche was taken to the Charles County Detention Center to be processed and charged.

Wasche was released on his own recognizance following a bail review the same day.

A trial is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, in Charles County District Court, Courtroom 2.

  1. He’s a “special ” kind of duh,, Someone has schooled him on all the wrong answers which made this worse for him… Obey the law and this wouldn’t have happened..
All he had to do is say no to the unnamed person he says gave him the gun.
The lawyer isn’t going to be cheap,, maybe that fact will make him realize how bad he screwed up ..
