ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Police are searching for a suspect after a clerk was assaulted during a robbery Wednesday afternoon at a Wawa store in Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County police officers assigned to the Southern District responded at about 1:10 p.m. Feb. 18, 2026 to the Wawa in the 600 block of Admiral Drive for a reported robbery.

A preliminary investigation determined a male suspect entered the store, assaulted a clerk and stole items from behind the counter before fleeing the area in a tan sedan.

The extent of the clerk’s injuries was not immediately released.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was wearing a black mask, a white hood underneath a tan hoodie, black gloves, blue jeans and black boots.

Detectives with the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Regional Crimes Unit are investigating.
