PORT TOBACCO, Md. โ One person died and another was hospitalized Friday night when their utility terrain vehicle overturned on Carol Road in Port Tobacco. Emergency crews conducted a 20-minute extrication operation after finding one victim with no detectable pulse.
The fatal Port Tobacco UTV accident occurred at 7635 Carol Road around 11:29 p.m. on September 5, 2025. Emergency dispatchers initially received reports of an overturned vehicle requiring extrication. Subsequently, first responders discovered two people trapped inside the utility terrain vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived to find one female unconscious and trapped inside the overturned UTV. Additionally, a male victim was also unconscious and required extrication. Rescue teams immediately established command operations with multiple units responding to the scene.
The Port Tobacco UTV accident required specialized rescue equipment and personnel. Rescue Engine 1 established incident command while paramedics assessed both victims. Emergency crews determined one patient had possible trauma arrest with no detectable pulse.
Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter launched with a 20-minute estimated arrival time. Meanwhile, rescue teams worked systematically to free both trapped occupants.
Emergency crews successfully extricated one victim who’s life status classification indicated fatality. Paramedics loaded the surviving patient into PA51 for transport after extensive on-scene treatment.
Command terminated operations around 12:000 a.m. after both patients received appropriate care. All emergency units returned to service following the complex rescue operation.
