Wm. B. Tennison
Solomons, MD –ย The 40th celebration of Patuxent River Appreciation Days was held at Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons. The two-day eventโ€”Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8โ€”featured a variety of attractions, displays, cuisine, entertainment and hands-on activities.

Free boat rides on two celebrated vesselsโ€”the Wm. B. Tennison, a bugeye; and Dee of St. Maryโ€™s, a sailing skipjackโ€”give fest-goers a chance to experience the expanse of the Patuxent River.

Live music was performed in two separate venues during the festivalโ€™s Saturday segment. Performers included Jay Armsworthy, Pond Scum, the California Ramblers, Calvert Swing Band, Bone and String, Bob Pfeiffer and Eric Skow, Some Assembly, Patuxent Voices and Smoke Creek Ramblers.

A Solomons tradition, the PRAD parade presented by the Shriners, was held Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m.

According to event organizers, PRAD is one of the Southern Maryland regionโ€™s longest-running festivals.ย
