PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Emergency crews from the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department responded late Friday night to a serious vehicle collision in the 4500 block of Sixes Road that left one patient pinned and requiring medevac transport to a trauma center.

According to official reports, Squad 2, Engine 21, and Chief 2C arrived on the scene shortly after dispatch. Chief 2C was first to arrive and located a patient trapped in the wreckage, prompting an upgrade in the incident classification.

Personnel from Squad 2 and Squad 7 executed the extrication, removing the patient from the vehicle. The individual was then flown via helicopter to an area trauma center. Engine 21 managed the landing zone operations to facilitate the airlift.

Further details on the cause of the crash and the patient’s condition have not yet been released.
