Prince Frederick House Fire Causes $100K In Damage, Displaces Two

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. A house fire that started on a rear deck caused an estimated $100,000 in damage and displaced two people Tuesday afternoon in Prince Frederick, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The fire was reported around 2:14 p.m., May 5, 2026, on North Cassell Boulevard in Calvert County.

Investigators said the fire was discovered by the homeowner on the back deck and quickly spread into the house.

Firefighters from the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding agencies responded with about 40 personnel and brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes.

The fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the structure and $25,000 to its contents.

Two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
