PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Prince Frederick man is facing charges after authorities say he failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements despite multiple notifications, according to court documents.
Corey Carnell Thomas, 45, of Prince Frederick, has been charged with failing to register as an offender and providing false information.
According to charging documents, Thomas was required to register under Maryland law as a Tier II sex offender. Investigators say he had been notified of his reporting obligations on multiple occasions, including during his release from the Calvert County Detention Center on January 2, 2026, and again during an address verification conducted on January 9, 2026. Thomas signed documentation acknowledging both notifications.
Authorities attempted to contact Thomas on March 25, 2026, using phone numbers listed on his registration, but all numbers were found to be inactive. Later that day, a deputy made contact with Thomas, who stated he would report for registration within approximately 20 minutes.
Court records indicate that Thomas failed to report within the required timeframe. Several hours later, he contacted law enforcement again and claimed his phone was broken and that he lacked transportation. He was instructed to report the following day, March 26, 2026, by 9 a.m., but failed to appear and made no further contact with authorities.
Based on the investigation, authorities sought charges, alleging Thomas knowingly failed to comply with registration requirements.
An arrest warrant was issued on March 28, 2026, by Judge Devante Meullion and was served on March 31, 2026.
Following a bail review hearing held April 1, 2026, Judge Robyn Riddle set bond at $2,500 after Thomas was initially held without bond.
A hearing is set for May 4, 2026 in Calvert District Court.
A booking photo of the suspect was provided to TheBayNet.com by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office upon request.
