LA PLATA, Md. – For the taxable year beginning July 1, 2024, the Town Council of Town of La Plata proposes to increase real property tax rates from $0.32 per $100 of assessment to $.35 per $100 of assessment.
A public hearing on the proposed real property tax rate increase will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne Street, La Plata, MD 20646. At the public hearing all parties in interest and citizens will have an opportunity to be heard. Special accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made upon request.
The hearing is open to the public, and public testimony is encouraged. Members of the public wishing to register in advance to address the Town Council in person may do so via the Public Communications page. Written comments or testimony may be delivered to La Plata Town Hall (305 Queen Anne St Box 2268, La Plata MD 20646) or emailed to the Department of Legislative Services.
