PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The rubber duck races will return to Calvert County in 2026. Calvert County Parks and Recreation has announced the next rubber duck race at Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center and promises that it’ll be a “quackin’ good time.”

The 10th annual Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Duck Race Event was announced a few weeks ago and will take place at the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center, located at 130 Auto Drive, Prince Frederick, on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

At the race, the ducks will be placed into a specialized duck race arena and float across the pool “powered by water jets and the cheers of the crowd.” The event will also feature free games and contests, crafts and more ahead of the duck races, giving duck fans plenty of opportunity to hang out and make the rubber duck races the event of the year.

This silly, quirky event serves as a fundraiser for the TR scholarship fund. The fund helps with fees for programs to allow those who require financial assistance to participate in the county’s TR programs. You can contribute by sponsoring a rubber duck in the race; all are welcome to sponsor a duck, and you can sponsor as a business, nonprofit or individual.

Sponsorship costs range from $5 to $110, depending on the level of sponsorship and the number of ducks.

You can learn more about duck sponsorship on Parks and Recreation’s website and in the activities guide. Organizers also recommend keeping an eye on Facebook for complete event information.
