
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — A rear-end collision involving a dump truck in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, on Thursday morning, resulted in one driver injured and citations.
The crash occurred on October 24, 2024 at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Three Notch Road in the area of Carpenter Lane. Crews arrived to find a car off the roadway that rear-ended a dump truck. EMS evaluated two patients on the scene.
The dump truck operator was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the striking vehicle refused further care.
According to initial reports, the driver of the striking vehicle received citations for failure to control speed to avoid collision and not following a vehicle at a reasonable and prudent distance.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
