PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners designated May 19-25, 2024, as Emergency Medical Services Week.

Calvert County Emergency Medical Services, or EMS, is composed of dedicated volunteer and career professionals who serve our community and are ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need, 24/7.

Our EMS system comprises a collaborative effort of first responders, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, educators, administrators, emergency nurses and physicians. Notably, Calvert County Fire-Rescue-EMS has proudly served the community as a volunteer organization for over 90 years. Whether career or volunteer, EMS personnel dedicate countless hours to specialized training and ongoing education, constantly sharpening their lifesaving skills.

Thank you to all Calvert County EMS providers, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police the Calvert County Behavioral Health’s Mobile Crisis Team and members of the CalvertHealth emergency room. These dedicated professionals consistently go above and beyond the call of duty, creating a positive and lasting impact in our community.
