Residential Development Coming To Brandywine

BRANDYWINE, Md. – A brand new residential development named Calm Retreat is coming to Brandywine. The development, led by Rodgers Consulting, will be located on the southbound side of US 301 (Robert Crain Highway), approximately 2,100 feet north of the intersection of Chadds Ford Drive.

According to a planning board agenda from December 10, 2020, Calm Retreat will include 488 lots and 58 parcels for single-family attached dwellings and 20,000 square feet of commercial development.

According to a recent post by Shasho Consulting, the project may have around or up to 850 residential units. It was also noted that concepts are always subject to change.

  1. “…, the project may have around or up to 850 residential units.” This is the code words for a high density housing apartment complex. I bet the neighboring single family housing folks, with those single family detached homes, homes costing over $600K+, will be just jumping with joy that their property values will be plummeting. “Calm Retreat”? That is a misnomer of a name if there ever was one.
