Mechanicsville, Md. – Southbound Route 235 (Three Notch Road) has reopened after being temporarily closed for several hours due to a downed tree on power lines near the Mechanicsville Wawa.
Earlier, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office advised that southbound lanes were shut down and traffic was detoured onto Route 5 while crews worked to clear the obstruction and ensure the area was safe.
Officials have now confirmed that the roadway is back open, and normal traffic flow has resumed. Drivers should still remain cautious in the area as crews may continue work near the roadside.
