DUNDALK, Md. – Today, Senator Johnny Ray Salling has spoken out against the threat of removal of the Christopher Columbus statue from Baltimore by the Socialist left. Senator Salling even called on the Mayor of Baltimore to protect the Christopher Columbus Statues.
Salling said, “ I am firmly against the removal and sanitation of our history, you cannot look at a person’s acts from a different historical time frame and judge them through modern-day lenses. Christopher Columbus discovered America and without this act, our country would not exist. People have every right to not agree with everything Christopher Columbus did. However, that does not give a far left-wing extremist organization the right to destroy Christopher Columbus’s contribution to our country. I stand with my fellow Republicans in defending Christopher Columbus’s statue from being removed and destroyed from Baltimore.”
