Serious Head-On Collision In St. Inigoes Sends Both Drivers To Hospital

ST. INIGOES, Md. — Emergency crews responded at about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, to a serious head-on collision that shut down Point Lookout Road near Heritage Lane in St. Inigoes.

First responders arrived to find two vehicles heavily damaged and one driver trapped inside. The roadway was closed in both directions as crews began extrication and medical care.

Command of the scene was established quickly, and multiple ambulances were requested. The trapped occupant was freed in less than three minutes.

Patients from both vehicles were assessed on scene and taken to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
