Seventh District Park Playground Reopens With Fresh New Features

AVENUE, Md. – St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks has unveiled yet another revitalized community space with the official reopening of the Seventh District Park playground.

The redesigned play area—located in the heart of the park, directly across from the fenced-in dog park—offers an entirely new play experience for families in the region. The upgrade comes just weeks after a similar playground renovation was completed at Bushwood Park in Chaptico.

The new features are part of the county’s ongoing commitment to modernizing recreational spaces and expanding access to safe, family-friendly amenities.

According to the St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks Department, the project is one of several aimed at enhancing outdoor spaces across the region.

Seventh District Park, located at 20530 Abell Road in Avenue, includes sports fields, walking paths, and pavilions in addition to the updated playground. Visitors can learn more by viewing the Seventh District Park Info Sheet and the countywide Recreation & Parks map.
