CALIFORNIA, Md. — The National Weather Service (NWS) has announced that severe thunderstorms are expected across Maryland later today, May 27, 2024. Tornado Watch Issued For Southern Maryland Until 11 PM
According to the NWS, the storms are capable of producing considerable wind damage, large hail, and even the threat of an isolated tornado. These conditions are expected to occur this afternoon and continue into the early evening.
In addition to the wind damage and hail, heavy rain from the thunderstorms may also lead to isolated instances of flooding.
Residents are advised to stay alert and follow all weather advisories and warnings.
