At 2:39 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning to last until 10 p.m. tonight for Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Counties in Southern Maryland as well as counties in northern and central Virginia.
The NWS included the cities of California, Chesapeake Beach, Dahlgren, Dunkirk, Falmouth, Fredericksburg, Huntingtown, Lexington Park, Lusby, North Beach, Prince Frederick, Spotsylvania Courthouse, St. Charles and Waldorf.
