ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A Severn man remains jailed without bond following a Monday morning arrest that led to a drug seizure and the service of two outstanding warrants, authorities confirmed.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. on July 28, 2025, a Southern District detective spotted 28-year-old Khaja Sayquan Sani Stansbury at a gas station in the 100 block of Solomons Island Road. The officer recognized Stansbury as the subject of active arrest warrants. When the detective approached, Stansbury attempted to flee but was quickly taken into custody without further incident.

A search of Stansbury’s vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately seven grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl. Police charged him with felony drug distribution and possession offenses, as well as multiple counts of misdemeanor drug possession and paraphernalia.

Stansbury also faced immediate service of two arrest warrants issued earlier in July. The first stems from a July 8 incident involving second-degree assault, theft under $100, and handgun possession. The second warrant, issued July 24, is tied to a separate second-degree assault case. Both warrants were marked as served the day of his arrest.

He appeared before Judge Sidney Allen Butcher on July 29 for a bond review in Annapolis District Court, where he was ordered held without bond in all cases. A preliminary hearing on the drug charges is scheduled for Aug. 27.

Stansbury is currently held at an Anne Arundel County detention facility.
