Ryan Langerhans delivered a go-ahead, two-run single in the bottom of the 8th inning to give the Sugar Land Skeeters a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The Crabs have now lost three consecutive one-run contests and have lost their third road series out of four.

Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the 8th, the Skeeters loaded the bases with two outs against Crabs reliever Erik Hamren (1-3). Ryan Langerhans singled up the middle for his second hit of the game to plate Travis Scott and Taylor Harbin and give Sugar Land the lead back. Itโ€™s the fourth time this season that the Blue Crabs have lost a lead that theyโ€™ve carried after seven innings.

Sugar Land stormed out of the gates with four runs in the bottom of the 1st against starter Brian Baker. Brian Barton hit a sacrifice fly for the first run and Harbin and Adam Godwin came up with RBI hits to put the Skeeters up 4-0.

Southern Maryland got three runs back in the top of the 3rd. Jermaine Mitchell and C.J. Ziegler hit back-to-back RBI singles and Jake Opitz brought in a run with a groundout to cut the deficit to a run.

The Blue Crabs snatched the lead in the 4th inning with two runs. Jonny Kaplan tied the game with an RBI single and Mitchellโ€™s RBI fielderโ€™s choice gave Southern Maryland their first lead of the day.
