PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Pennsylvania woman was arrested in Calvert County after deputies discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during an investigation involving suspicious behavior at a local convenience store, according to court documents.
Tiffany Erin Lewis, 48, of York, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody on March 24, 2026, following an incident that began at the 7-Eleven located on North Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick.
According to the statement of probable cause, deputies were dispatched for a report of a suspicious person described as acting erratically near a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers located the vehicle as it left the area and observed it making multiple lane changes before turning into the Fox Run Shopping Center, behavior consistent with attempting to avoid police detection.
Deputies followed the vehicle and observed the driver behaving erratically after parking, including flailing his arms and jumping around outside the vehicle. The driver was later identified, while Lewis was located in the passenger seat, initially unnoticed as she was reclined and slumped over, reportedly due to a headache.
During the investigation, deputies observed indicators of drug activity inside the vehicle, including burned copper material commonly used as a filter when smoking narcotics. Based on these observations and the driver’s behavior, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle.
Lewis was asked to exit the vehicle and requested her pill bottle from inside. When deputies retrieved and examined the bottle, they discovered a rolled dollar bill, a method commonly used to ingest narcotics, along with a clear capsule containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Additional evidence recovered included a hollow pen body with residue, also commonly associated with drug use. Investigators later confirmed the substances were consistent with methamphetamine, with approximately 2 grams recovered during the investigation.
According to authorities, Lewis admitted the methamphetamine belonged to her and stated she commonly ingested it by snorting, consistent with the paraphernalia located during the search.
Lewis was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Court records show Lewis was released on her own recognizance following her arrest.
A trial is set for May 11, 2026 in Calvert District Court.
