On Tuesday, May 22 at 7:15 p.m., Trooper Linger initiated a traffic stop on a red Cadillac on All Faiths Church Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit.
Contact was made with the driver, Terrell Wayne Vaughan, 22, of Nanjemoy and the passenger, Terrence Ryan Warren, 23, of Welcome.
During the course of the traffic stop, Linger observed a box and cellophane bag thrown from the vehicle which was recovered. Both items contained cocaine weighing 37.2 grams. A search incident to the arrest revealed 5.7 grams of marijuana located in the vehicle.
Vaughan was arrested for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Warren was arrested for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were both transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.
