LEONARDTOWN, Md. โ A 27-year-old Clements woman is facing a charge of making a false statement to an officer after an internal investigation by the St. Maryโs County Sheriffโs Office concluded that her detailed allegations of being sexually assaulted by a deputy were directly contradicted by body camera footage.
The investigation began on June 30, 2025, when Jesse Lee Isom filed an official complaint with the Sheriffโs Office of Professional Responsibilities (OPR). In her complaint and subsequent interviews, Isom alleged that a deputy had sexually assaulted her on two separate occasions in late 2023. She claimed that during an arrest at the courthouse, the deputy took her to a secluded parking lot and assaulted her by placing his hands under her shirt and down her pants, touching her breasts, buttocks and vagina.
According to the official statements, OPR investigators located body camera footage from the dates and locations Isom described. The first video, from an arrest on Sept. 28, 2023, showed the deputy conducting a search with the back of his gloved hands and at no point placing his hands under Isomโs clothing. The second video, from an encounter on Nov. 9, 2023, showed that the search Isom described was actually conducted by a female Maryland State Trooper.
When investigators presented Isom with the footage, which she confirmed depicted the incidents in question, she reportedly confirmed that no sexual assault was observed on the video.
The charge for making a false statement is not Isomโs only recent case. On the same day she filed the complaint, June 30, 2025, she was also charged with obstructing and hindering and disorderly conduct for allegedly interfering with the arrest of her boyfriend during a traffic stop.
Isom was charged via a criminal summons for making a false statement on Aug. 4, 2025. The misdemeanor carries a maximum penalty of up to six months in jail and a $500 fine. She has a preliminary inquiry scheduled for both cases on Sept. 19, 2025.

I hope they keep this woman locked up. She has a rap sheet a mile long. Insane!
this should not be taken to mean that body cameras should be worn. There are pros and cons. How is the criminal justice system going to change because there are no more off the record conversations with police, in other words, comfortable conversations. ?
Sounds like she needs help in more than one area !
