LEONARDTOWN, Md. – St. Mary’s County Government’s Department of Recreation & Parks (R&P) is excited to announce the return of Friday Summer Skate at Leonard Hall Recreation Center. The Friday Summer Skate season starts Friday, June 20, 2025, and continues through August 15, 2025 (closed July 4, 2025).
Each Friday, families can enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of roller skating from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., with unique themes every week! There is a $5.00 entrance fee for all, and skates may be rented for an additional $2.50.
2025 Friday Summer Skate weekly themes include:
| June 20 | Summer Lūʻau: Start the summer with tropical island vibes! |
| June 27 | 80s Skate: Dress up in your favorite 80s styles! |
| July 4 | No Session |
| July 11 | Pajama Skate: Get comfy and wear your favorite pajamas! |
| July 18 | Character Skate: Dress like your favorite movie, book, or play character! |
| July 25 | Beat the Heat: Cool off indoors with popsicles! |
| August 1 | Color Craze: Come decked out in your favorite color! |
| August 8 | Superhero Skate: Wear your favorite Superhero costume! |
| August 15 | Team Spirit: Wear apparel from your favorite sports team! |
In addition to Friday Summer Skate, Leonard Hall Recreation Center hosts Family Skate every Sunday afternoon, except holidays, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. This year-round weekly event provides the perfect opportunity for skaters of all ages and abilities to join in the fun. Like Friday Summer Skate, entry is $5.00 and skate rental is available for $2.50.
