LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Chesapeake Building at 41770 Baldridge Street to gather public input on the proposed Bradley Brooke residential development in Lexington Park.

According to county planning documents, the Bradley Brooke project proposes 223 homes—150 townhouses and 73 single-family detached units—on approximately 76 acres east of Willows Road, at the end of Bradley Boulevard. The site lies within the Residential Low-Density zoning district inside the Lexington Park Development District. A portion of the property extends into the Navy’s Air Installation Compatible Use Zone (APZ-II), though no housing is proposed within that area.

Planning staff report that the project meets zoning and design standards and appears to satisfy adequate public facilities requirements. Conditions for approval include obtaining a variance from the Board of Appeals to reduce street frontage requirements and finalizing the major subdivision before any major site plan approval.

Residents are encouraged to attend and share feedback. Written comments may be submitted in advance by 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, addressed to Planning Commission, Attn: Megan Higgs Carter, P.O. Box 653, Leonardtown, MD 20650, or emailed to Megan.Higgs-Carter@stmaryscountymd.gov. All submissions will be entered into the record.

Accommodations for individuals with special needs will be provided with at least one week’s notice by contacting the County Commissioners Office at 301-475-4200, ext. 1340. The meeting will be televised live and recorded for later broadcast.
