St. Mary’s County Police responded to a residence in the San Souci neighborhood of California for a reported stabbing on Aug. 23 at approximately 12:20 a.m. It was determined that the victim, a 24-year-old Lexington Park man, and Brandon J. Dent, 22 from Great Mills, were both attending a party at the residence and began to argue.
Dent stabbed the victim in the arm with a kitchen knife and fled. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s deputies located Dent driving in the area a short time later, and he was charged by detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations with first degree assault. He wwas incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
The victim was treated and released at St. Mary’s Hospital.
